I’m listening to a catbird belt out its song in my garden. It’s unique. It is its own song. I melt into appreciation and joy as I hear it.
That song doesn’t “get anyone anywhere.” The catbird is “just” being itself. But it’s making a difference for me. That catbird song matters to me.
It’s a leap of faith for many of us – myself included – to believe that we matter, just by being who we are, rather than what we accomplish. That maybe the world is different – in a positive way – just because of who we are being.
What if it could be about our intention, rather than our performance results?
What if how we show up matters more than anything?
I’m wondering if you might join me in a little experiment today.
What is something that you know about yourself that makes a difference?
What if you trust that today, somebody needs that essence of you, and that you will make a difference?
And what if you choose to be that quality a little more than you usually are, today?
Just let it be a light intention in how you show up to life.
I know that in my best moments, I bring a light-heartedness to life.
Today, I’m going to consciously bring a little bit more of that into my life and in my connections.
Maybe when I do that, the footprints that I leave today will matter to someone. Maybe, it will make a difference.
Let’s all make a difference!
P.S. If you have been looking for that catbird in the photo, it isn’t there. I didn’t move fast or stealthily enough. But this is where the catbird was. 🙂
