This is St. Jean de Pied de Port, in France. It is the departure point for the Camino Frances, the particular Camino de Santiago route that I am traveling virtually.
The first day is no walk in the park or day at the beach. It is 25 km (15.6 miles) over the Pyrenees, from France into Roncesvalles, Spain.
The walk today is a shock into awareness and it demands my attention. I am Here Now.
I’m enjoying this series so much, Lynne! And … I am Here Now. That feels like such a powerful statement to me (and something for me to remember).
Thank you, Gin! I’ve been surprised at how real this pilgrimage has felt for me, despite it being a virtual, inner pilgrimage. It seems that the process of pilgrimage is inherently powerful.
What a beautiful site, with all the jewel-like pictures, shining like a crisp cool morning.
