This is St. Jean de Pied de Port, in France. It is the departure point for the Camino Frances, the particular Camino de Santiago route that I am traveling virtually.
The first day is no walk in the park or day at the beach. It is 25 km (15.6 miles) over the Pyrenees, from France into Roncesvalles, Spain.
The walk today is a shock into awareness and it demands my attention. I am Here Now.

More than one client has said to me: “Why can’t I spend just 15 minutes per day checking in with my inner guidance? I know it would make a big difference in my life. Why don’t I just do it?”
Pilgrimage Check-In, #2
Last year I spent my winter in Greece, in my imagination. Long story, but the essence is that I wanted to spend some time in the sun, color, and energy of the Greek Isles while the snow flew here. I read memoirs and did close to 30 small watercolor paintings, which I posted on my personal blog.
I found this colorful leaf this morning on my driveway, and I was reminded of the beauty of autumn and of the power of letting go.
